Sharp Pains on Right Side of Body

1. Kidney Stones

When minerals in your kidney start to crystallize, forming a stone that renders the flow of blood/urine, thus causing pain. The pain usually sharpens as the stone travels in the kidney and ureter. The pain begins below the ribs and then intensely spreads towards the lower abdomen and groin. The pain can be felt, both at the front and back.

2. Appendicitis

Appendicitis occurs, when appendix gets infected with bacterial growth. The pain starts to appear as dull aches near the abdomen, which later sharpens as it moves towards a precise location near the right abdomen, exactly where the large intestine meets the appendix.

3. Ectopic Pregnancy

An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg attaches to (in most cases) a fallopian tube or ovaries, instead of in the uterus. The pain begins when the ectopic pregnancy has ruptured. It begins with a dull and constant ache in the abdomen, turning into a painful experience where everything from your shoulders to the abdomen starts to ache horribly, because of the blood oozing out of the ruptured pregnancy and collecting below the diaphragm.

4. Cysts in Ovary

Ovarian cyst is when a fluid-filled sac starts to build on one or both ovaries of women. The cysts usually disappear on their own. However, if it turns huge in size, it may start to produce discomfort. The discomfort may slowly turn to pain on one side of body, radiating from pelvis to the lower back and thigh.

5. UTI

Pain occurs, when the bladder is hit by an infection. The pain varies from person to person. Some experience a dull ache when urinating, while some experience horrendous amounts of pain running from the lower back to the groin.

The pain is severely felt in the right side of body. Running from the right shoulder blade, beneath the rib cage to the right quadrant of upper abdominal cavity. While abdominal pain can only be lessened as the inflammation goes down, here is how to get rid of shoulder pain.

2. Gall Stones

Gall stones are stones that block the flow of bile, in the gall bladder, resulting in the inflammation of gall bladder, which in return results in severe pain under the ribs, both back and front and in the abdomen.

3. Irritable Bowel Syndrome

IBS is a condition that affects the large intestine. The causes of it are unknown, but it is one of the most common reasons why people complain of upper abdominal pain, under the ribs, along with pain in the lower abdomen.
